Amnesia is complete or partial loss of memory caused by brain injury, shock, etc.
2. Describe the Wilderness School. What kind of children are accepted into the Wilderness School?
The Wilderness(spelling) School is a Bording(spelling) school for bad children that have either been sent there by their parents or have been forced to attend school there because of "bad" behavior.
3. Describe Piper
Piper is a 15 or 16 year old girl who is seemingly strong willed and isn't(spelling) afraid to get dirty.
4. Describe Leo
Leo is Jason's best friend who is good with his hands and is a bad influence to most people. Leo is about 15 or 16 and has ADHD.
5. What do you think the gold coin is a symbol of? What do you think the inscription IVLIVS means?
The coin is a symbl(spelling) of battle, thus showing a battle axe, I think ILVIVS is a code for something or a person of who it belonged to.
6. Coach Hedge says, "I knew we had an infiltrator....," what does this mean?
It means that soemone(spelling) has entered their group without being permitted.
7. Coach Hedge got a message from the camp stating that they were sending an extraction team. What do you think this means?
That someone was supposed to pick them up and take them away.
8. What do you think it means when they refer to "half-bloods?"
Half-bloods are half human half god.
9. Do you think Jason had something to do with the storm? What do you think this might mean?
Yes and it could mean that he is a son of Zeus(spelling) the god of storms.

3. Describe when Dylan turned into to.
Dylan turned into a ventus or wind spirit.
4. What is a demigod?
A demigod is the same thing as a half blood, which is half god half mortal.
5. Summarize what happened in chapter two.
In chapter 2 Dylan turned into a ventus spirit, Coach Hedge revealed that he is a saytr. Then Jason and Dylan battled, eventually Jason prevailed when Dylan was called back to his mistress. Jason then found that Piper was falling into the Grand Canyon and dove down, caught her, and then floated back up surprising(spelling) Leo. Then Annabeth Chase and Butch rode down in a chariot.
6.Do you think Annabeth's answer can be found with Jason? What clues have they given you so far?
I think that yes and the clues that would make me think that is that, when Annabeth enters in a chariot she expects to see Percy but he isn't there and Jason seems like he is going to help her uncover the mystery.

7. What was the message that Piper was getting in her dream?
The message was that Annabeth and Butch would come to them in the Grand Canyon.
8. Piper describes herself on page 43 as a "kleptomaniac." What is a kleptomaniac?
A kleptomaniac is someone who has the urge to steal or offend.
9. What is the satyrs job?
A satyr's job is to find half bloods and bring them to camp half blood for training.
10. What is the Tartarus?
Tartarus is where all monsters or evil gods go to when they are destroyed, but they aren't (spelling) destroyed just reincarnated.
11. When they say that Coach Hedge will be reincarnated, what does this mean?
That means he will come back alive, but in a different form.
12. Why do you think that Piper stole, even thought she wasn't poor?
Piper stole to get her fathers attention.
13. What does an oracle do?
Oracle's give prophecy's to heroes or gods or any Greek(spelling) being.
14. Why was Piper so surprised when she saw the "actual Golden Fleece?"
Piper had probably thought that it wasn't(spelling) real and she thought it was just a copy of the fleece.
15. Why is the Mist important to mortals?
Without the mist mortals could see everything that is happening and would be scared out of their mind's because they would be able to see dragons, gods sword fighting, etc.
16. What happened when Piper looked into the knife?
She saw her dad in chains over a fire, and she saw herself as a evil person.
17. Who is their oracle? What happens to this oracle at the end of this chapter?
The oracle is Racheal Elizabeth Dare and at the end of the chapter the oracle (Racheal) had a spirit come out of her and into Piper telling her to do something.

I think Piper's father was kidnapped by people, and Piper's mother is Aphrodite.

Leo goes to Hephestus its cabin 9 and Leo's dad is famous for his blacksmith skills and fire tolerance.

Leo will live in a cabin with thousands of tinkering objects and a forge close to the cabin.
3. Why is Leo frightened about sleeping in his new bed?
The bed was the previous head counselor (spelling)who died in the Titan war.

It was malfunctioning and attacking people becuase(spelling) of a broken disc in his main controls.

They are all good at mechanics and building they all are strong.

Leo's gift was that he was fire tolerant and he could summon fire he plans to use it to capture the dragon.

It's an example of foreshadowing because it says that storms and weather are a important part of the book and a eagle symbolizes Zeus which is the God of storms. Seymour is a leopard and he is just a head of a leopard the Mr.D saved.

Zeus because his animal is the eagle and the lines could be lightening, but i don't know what SPQR stands for or means.
6. On page 92, the author refers to the mist. Why?
It is not the mist that shadows human eyes, but a mist that a god or spirit comes out of.
7. When the woman came to visit, she said, "You know me, I have known you since your birth," what do you think this means?
The woman has been watching Jason (spelling) and is overseeing his life. Watch your verb tenses.

9. What is a prophecy? A prophecy is a prediction, but in greek mythology an oracle would give a propchecy to a hero.
10. What is a patron? Why is this important to Jason and Annabeth?
A patron(spelling) is a person whois a customer, client,orpaying guest. It is important because(spelling) it could lead them to Percy or something even more important.
11. What did the woman say that worries Jason? This woman might be Hera.
She said she is his patron(spelling) and he must free her and she said the same thing to Piper through the oracle.
12. Hera's goatskin clock is a symbol of what?
It's the symbol of Juno the Roman version of Hera.
13. What's the difference between the Greek and Roman gods? Even if they are the same people.
The difference between Greek and Roman gods are they have diffrerent names like Hepheastus is Vulcan and they appear differently like the Goatskin cloak on Juno(Hera), but so far it doesn't seem that they have different personalities or powers.Specifically what are the differences between Greek and Roman gods - redo this answer.
14. What does the words "hypno" and "somnus," mean? Find English words that we use today with the root words: hypno and somnus.
Hypno means sleep and somnus means the same thing, but in Roman. Words we use with hypno are hypnosis, hypnotize and for somnus i couldn't find.Redo this answer, read the question carefully.
15. Why is Annabeth thinking that Jason is in big trouble at the end of this chapter?
Annabeth thought he was in trouble because they thought that he had no way of regaining his memory and he had to find the imprisoned(spelling) Hera.

The version of the paparazzi in this book is like the media, they chase famous people and the words that helped me was rabid herd of paparazzi.

Her whole childhood was crowded with paparazzi and she barley got time to spend with her dad.

She stole the BMW because it was her only way to get her fathers attention.

Pipers mom left her and her father.

It means the Cherokees had gone through years of bad life and it relates to how piper is feeling.

Piper's dream was about her improsined father.

Argus is Camp Half-Blood's security chief.

So far in the book we know that Hera has been captured and they must free her, but they do not know how or where she is.

Percy is Annabeth's boyfriend and she decided to dedicate her time to look for him.

The great prophecy has not been revealed to the readers yet so we could only guess that it is so impotant that only chiron gets to know.
12. On page 122 it says that pandemonium broke out? What is this and why did pandemonium break out?
Pandemonium is crazyness and it broke out because there was confusion and anxiety so people were asking questions and it got hectic.
13. What happened to Jason when he first heard the oath?
He finished the last half of the oath.
14. What do you think the oath means?
The oath could mean that someone will knock at the doors of death.
15. What is the main problem of the quest?
They don't know who is going onto the quest.
16. Who was chosen for the quest and why were they chosen?
Only 3 have been chosen Piper,Leo, and Jason they were chosen because of the prophecy.

Tia Callida was Leo's old babysitter who tried to kill him a couple of times. Tia seems like a dark person who was probably not fit for the job.
2. Tell me four strange things that Tia Callida did and how that relates to the story.
Four strange things about Tia Callida were: 1. She tried to kill Leo 2. She appeared at camp Half-Blood 3. She was unable to see by anyone, but Leo when she visited him 4.She would always talk of Greek mythology around him. These relate to the story because(spelling) they all changed Leo's future because without her he would still be at his house with his mom.
3. When Tia Callida told Leo, "Remember this night, little hero, when they ask you to oppose me," what do you think this means?
That one day Leo shall meet her and will think to attack, but she is telling him not to.
4. Tell me what is going on at the end of this chapter.
At the end of this chapter Leo was thinking of beating down Tia after all the pain that she had caused to his family.

5. How did Leo catch the dragon?
Leo caught the Dragon by talking to it, then he helped out of a trap and then the dragon trusted him.
6. What is a dryad? What did she do?
A dryad is a Nymph of the woods. The Dryad was angry about the dragon burning her so she made a face at Leo.
7. What did Leo have to do to the dragon?
He had to fix the control panel and add wings to the dragon.
8. Why did Leo name the dragon, "Festus?"
He named him Festus because he came up with the name and it fit the dragon
9. In the cave where the dragon lives, it said, "Bunker 9." Why is this important to the story?
Bunker 9 could mean it was Hepheastus property or there were 8 other and its important because(spelling) it gave Leo all the tools he needed to fix Festus.
10. How was this cave similar to the dream Leo had?
It was a room full of every type of tool you could imagine.
11. What work do you think Leo and Festus have to do?
He had to fix Festus's control disc, clean his gears, and add wings which is a huge project for 1 person.

Jason felt that he knew her and Lupa said that he grew up here and that he was their saving grace.
4. On page 159 it states, "The other wolves circled the pool, their fur standing up on their backs as they snarled at the spires." What does it mean when the hair stands on the back of your head? What are spires?
When your hair stands on the(spelling) back of your head it means that you are nervous or scared, and spires are a tall, acutely pointed pyramidal roof or roof like construction upon a tower, roof, etc.
5. What does the last paragraph of this chapter mean? Why is this an important part of this book?
It means that Jason is going to save them and it's important because(spelling) it reveals where Hera is being held.

1. Describe Calais and Zethes.
Calais is a ugly bull who has few teeth left in his mouth, he is uncapable of saying any words that have more than 2 syllables. So you can't tell his personality well,but with his common words"destroy,hockey,pizza" he seems as a destructive type. Zethes is on the opposite end of the pole he is very refound(spelling) with his words and how he images himself, Zethes also seems obsessed with how he looks at all times with his qoute"the warmth ruins my hair"(or something similair to that) and so he seems shallow and self-absorbed.
2. What emergency did Leo, Jason and Piper use to save them at the hotel so they could see Boreas?
They said their dragon was malfunctioning and could crash at any second.
3. Why did Cal and Zethes find Leo suspicious?
He seemed to be covered in fire or be fire and they hated for so that arose suspicion.
4. Who was Jason, the original Golden Fleece guy?
Jason the original was from over a millennia (spelling) ago when Calais and Zethes were still demigods and Jason retreived the Golden fleece hense being called the Golden fleece guy.
5. Why did the girl state that Boreas was waiting to meet Jason?
She was like a secretary and so she wanted to act like she wasn't surprised (spelling) to see him by telling him that Boreas was expecting him.

1. How did Piper figure out that the coach had been preparing her to be a demigod?
He put her through intense workouts that only now helped her in her journey.
2. Why didn't Piper's father ever play Native American parts?
He always wanted to be something he wasn't in parts so playing Native American was against what he wanted.
3. Tell about Piper's dream? Do you think her dream is related to what is or will actually happen in this book? Why or why not?
In Piper's(spelling) dream Encleadus talking to her about her father, and I(spelling) think yes because(spelling) Piper would sacrifice anything to save her father and that could mean abandoning the quest.
4. What decision did the giant tell Piper that she would need to make?
She would have to choose from her father or her friends.

5. Why did Festus suddenly start falling with Piper, Leo and Jason?
Festus fell because he rammed into a wall and fell.
6. Where did they land?
They crash landed through a warehouse window and landed on the ground of the warehouse.Be more specific.
7. On page 243 it states that Leo sounded crestfallen. What does this mean?
It means a kind of depressed.
8. On page 245 it says, deja vu. What does this mean?
deja vu,(punctuation) means something happening again, or the feeling of something that has happened before. Or you feel like something has happened to you before.
9. The words MONOCLE MOTORS turned out to be much more than a logo. Explain.
There was a red eye in the logo that looked suspicious and like it was watching Piper and monocle means one eyed galsses.(spelling). You could add more to this answer Mitchell.
10. Explain the cliffhanger at the end of this chapter.
At the end of the chapter a cyclops was walking toward Piper talking like Jason.

11. What line of the Great Prophecy kept going around in Leo's head and what does it mean?
The line that was stuck in his head was to storm or fire the world must fall and it means that he(the fire guy) or storm spirits will destroy the world.

She said that out of the sevenwrite out all numbers less than 10 in the prophecy he was the most important, andAnd the first mother thing could mean that Leo was adopted or that Hera was like a mother to him.

Leo could sense that something non-human was in the factory.
2. What is a cyclopes? A cyclopes is a one eyed beast of Greek mthology that can't be burned by fire.
3. What would a chain mail muumuu look like?
It would be like a chain mail dress.
4. When the lady Cyclops (Ma Gasket) said that Piper was, Venus' spawn, what does that mean?
Piper's mother in Roman is Venus and spawn means child so, its like saying Aphrodite kid.
5. Give at least two examples of how Ma Gasket treats her children.
She treats her children like slaves ex:making one of her sons get her salsa. And she gives them no respect by just ordering them around.
6. Who do you think the kid with the purple shirt who spoke Latin might be?
7. Why were the Hyperborean Cyclopes forced to shut down?
When the Titan war ended they had no work so they shut down.
8. Why was Leo unaffected by the kerosene?
Leo is fireproof so he isn't affected by any forms of fire.
9. How did Leo get rid of Ma Gasket?
He dropped a block of cement on top of her, but he only temporarily destroyed her.
10. What was the main idea for this chapter?
The main idea was Leo fighting the Cyclopes and freeing his friends single handedly.

11. Why couldn't Hera escape from her cage?
The magic used to trap Hera was too strong for her to break out of.
12. Why did Zeus close Olympus?
He thought the gods were getting too involved with their mortal children and so paranoid as he be shut down Olympus.
13. How did Hera get trapped in her cage?
A voice told her to come to a place where was ambushed or attacked(doesn't say exactly) and then trapped.
14. What was the dangerous gamble that Hera made? What do you think it means?
The gamble was erasing Jason's memory and moving him to camp Half-Blood and it could mean that she did it to protect someone or something that was too important to risk.
15. How do you think they will find the storm spirits?
I think that they will come to them or they will hunt them down.
16. What was the big idea of this chapter.
The big idea was Jason's dream about Hera and the group traveling to Chicago.

1. Where were the children going to?
The children were going to Chicago.
2. What was their goal?
To capture some storm spirits and take them to Aelous.
3. Whom did they meet and why might this be significant?
4. What things in this chapter just don't look or sound right? Things that make you suspicious.
In this chapter, in a sewer there are levels of height and that seems weird and it could be a magic thing or just messed up.

5. 'why didn't Piper like department stores?
She was always caught "stealing" in them.
6. What was the Princess trying to sell to the kids?
A varitey of potions.
7. Why didn't Piper trust the Princess?
Piper didn't trust her because she was talking Jason and Leo into buying potions when they knew what they were supposed to be doing.
8. What's happening at the bay area? Why are people predicted to die there?
The book doesn't say exactly, but it seems that something bad is happening, like a gathering of monsters or giants could be going on and that would kill most people.

1. How did the princess betray her family?
Medea betrayed her family by stealing her father's treasure for a man and then killed her brother.
2. Why did Piper have to slap Jason across the face? What was going on?
Piper slapped Jason because she tried to slap him out of Medea's trance and Leo was deciding to buy a forge.
3. The princess says she is Medea. Who is Medea and what is this all about?
Medea is a princess form Greek times and she is trying to trap Jason,Leo and Piper.
4. What was the pact that the princess (Medea) made with Jason and why?
The pact was she helped him steal her fathers treasure and escape and he married her.
5. Why are Jason and Leo wanting to fight?
Medea using charmspeak told them untrue things to anger them and cause them to fight.
6. Why did Medea want to kill the kids? What was she hoping that would happen?
She wanted to kill them because her patron asked her to and she was hoping they would kill each other.
7. When she saw they got away, why did she say she wanted to go with them?
She said that in hopes to talk them into saving her from dying.

Festus saved the kids.

1. What did Leo's dad Hephaestus talk to Leo about? He talked to him about the gods needing the demi-gods. 2. What does it mean on page 366 when Coach Hedge said, "The gods hate needing humans. They like to be needed by humans.?" The gods want to be needed by humans rather than they needing them. 3. What would happen if Piper would betray her friends? She would recieve her father back. 4. Why did Piper's dad name her Piper? Her grampa Tom said she had a loud voice and should be named Piper. 5. What is the "snake song" all about? The snake song would protect Cherokees' from snakes if they met them. 6. What dream did Piper tell everyone about? Encleadus meeting her and telling her how to get her father back. 7. What was the warning that Enceladus sent? He told Piper to bring Jason and Leo to be disposed of and she would only then recieve her father. 8. Why did Coach Hedge think that the giant doesn't want Piper, Jason and Leo dead yet? He needs Piper's dad as leverage against them . 9. What happened on Mount Othrys? After Kronos was defeated it did a kind of self-destruct.

Lycaon is the king of the wolves and he takes on a werewolf like apperance by being half human features and half wolf features. He seems to have a grudge against Jason especially and he doesn't seem like the person you'd like to mess with. 12. How did Lycaon get turned into a wolf? Lycaon got turned into a wolf by feeding Zeus human flesh. 13. Why did Lycaon want to kill Jason first? He had a grudge against Zeus so he wants to take it out on Jason. 14. Why might Medea want to kill Jason? She was betrayed by Jason in the olden days and still carries the grudge. 15. What was the only thing that stopped the wolves? The hunters of Artemis came in and killed most of the wolves, while the others ran away. 16. Who is Jason's sister?
Jason's sister is Thalia Grace also a child of Zeus. 17. Thalia knew it was Jason by a scar on his lip. What happened to him? Jason bit into a stapler when he was really young. 18. What happened to Jason when he was two? His mother "lost" him when Thalia, her and Jason were on a vacation. 19. Why does Hera hate all children of Zeus? Hera is Zeus's immortal wife so she dislikes it when Zeus has other children with mortals. 20. Describe Jason's mom. Aphrodite changed their clothes after talking to Piper.

Piper told them that she was ordered to kill Jason and Leo and they were facing enceladus in the near future.

She feels that its her responsibility and shouldn’t bring her friends into her business.

Gaea was pulling them down into the ground throughout their adventure.

Jason might have lived there before his memories were stolen.

Enceladus is a ugly giant who has bones and weapons as his hair and had a small loincloth and razor sharp teeth and can breathe fire.

Purple is a sign of power and usually in this book it’s used a battle prize for defeating someone with power.

Piper found her dad behind Enceladus, tied up and unconscious.
